Wolfhard Janke appointed international visiting professor


Wolfhard Janke from Leipzig University, Germany, has been appointed as Visiting Professor for Theoretical Physics in the Applied Mathematics Research Centre. Prof. Janke is the director of the Theoretical Physics Institute of Leipzig University. Professor Janke is a leading expert in the field of computer simulations in hard and soft condensed-matter physics. He has made important contributions to a wide range of fields, ranging from the general theory of phase transitions and critical phenomena, to the physics of soft matter systems such as polymers, proteins and membranes, to the theory of complex systems and systems in confined geometries. He has published close to 400 scientific articles, more than 240 of which are publications in international peer-reviewed journals.
